At Ecopack, our commitment to sustainability is in our name and is at the heart of everything we do.

These are not just words, but concrete actions, and our efforts go far beyond our paper products.

At the beginning of 2023, we decided to significantly improve our sustainability indicators from the previous year, to align our business and ethical practices with the image we want our customers to have: that of a company that operates sustainably in every aspect of its business. And while perfection does not exist, we are on a mission to make a significant and lasting impact on the environment.

This is how we are doing it: by emphasising the importance of creating compostable products, recycling, and optimising waste reduction and increasing the use of clean energy.

Waste Reduction and Recycling

Our commitment to sustainability starts with smart waste management.

Over the past nine months, we have implemented a number of measures to reduce waste at source. This includes improving our waste recycling practices in all offices and within our production, and minimising the use of waste-generating materials such as paper for hand drying, preferring electric hand dryers instead.

We organised educational sessions with our team to instil the importance of responsible waste management and to make sure everyone was aware of their proper disposal.

Since the beginning, we have achieved remarkable results: in Q1 2023, we reduced waste generation by 20%, followed by 51% in Q2 and 74% in Q3.

By the end of 2023, Ecopack will have reduced its waste creation by 50% overall.

Renewable Energy

In 2022, we took a significant step towards sustainability by installing solar panels.

The project took a year to complete, and our panels went into operation in early 2023, generating 21% of our company’s energy needs to date.

Our commitment to clean and renewable energy sources remains firm, and we don’t intend to stop here!

Conclusions

Our overall mission is to master the principles of the circular economy.

We believe in using materials that can become compost for a new life, in using clean energy that we can produce and supply ourselves, and in minimising the use of materials that end up as waste.

Effective waste separation, achieved by dividing our waste into different containers, is a key step in this direction. It is not only an environmental choice; it is a responsible and ethical duty shared by all of us.

Similarly, the installation of solar panels will help us achieve our goal of running our business with a sustainable and clean source of energy, thus reducing our carbon footprint and the impact of our business on the environment.
